Within a blink of an eye, 3+ months of hard paced, action-packed upland bird hunting is coming to a close. Affectionately referred to as “the 100-day hump”, we sincerely appreciate the opportunity to host guests (whom most if not all become new friendships) from across the globe as we share the lifestyle and splendor South Dakota provides us.
It’s no small feat to operate a lodge, let alone one that’s in a rural setting exposed to the elements but our exceptional staff makes it look easy. Our goal, whether you arrive in Mid-September or Mid-December is to provide the same quality of experience and courtesy. A big shout out to our lodge, guide staff, and 4-legged hunting buddies for accomplishing this feat!
The photos included are from one of our last hunts in December when the wind was nautical in nature and our guides and guests were getting slapped around by a few snowflakes (not the woke ones). Guides and guests alike are grinning from ear to ear. Weather didn’t matter, they were going to have a great experience regardless what Mother Nature was dishing out. A little pain, cold and discomfort were the least of their worries. After all, how could one complain when our guests included none other than 4-star marine General Walt Boomer and former marine and Fox News contributor Joey Jones. Take one look at their biographies and you would agree complaining in this mixed company will get you nowhere fast. Salute to all that serve!
